New Year’s Resolutions – Start Right Away

Here’s how you can get started right now on your big goals for the new year.

New year inspires most of us to dream big. Loosing weight, Running Regularly and what not. It’s good to set goals: After all, people who make New Year’s resolutions are 10 times more likely to achieve their goals than those who don’t.

But dreaming isn’t enough, after all most of us did that last year too 😉 .

So here’s a chance to Start the new year on right tone. Just follow some simple steps to achieve the bigger goal.

Step 1: Start Running Regularly

Start with 15- to 20-minute runs or walks, or a mix of both into your schedule for the week—that’s enough to build fitness and establish a routine without exerting your body and giving an excuse of lack of time. Make a note of your workouts in week and the distance done. That will give you a motivation for next week.

Step 2: Diversify Your Diet

Time to dust off one of your bad eating habits. Start with one, make a note, treat youself with something else which good for your body and supports you in your health routine. Step 3: Set a Personal Record

Setting a personal record will help you focus 360 degree. Just running might bore you. Add a few pushups and plank in your routine to improve on your core and set a personal record to achieve. Targets always help keeping you motivated in the direction. Start with a number of pushup and duration of plank and keep adding more to it weekly. Along with your running schedule adding these will give a variety plus give you a 360 degree healthy look.

Step 4: Run a Marathon

Sign up for a marathon and get a good training plan that matches your goals. Don’t over do, discuss with your coach or running partners and decide the place and distance to run. You will be in good shape with a proper running plan and will start rolling on towards a journey of healthy lifestyle.

Make a list of everyone you know who runs or cycle so you can hit them up for a joint workout once in a while. This will help you plan out your run and meeting in advance and will keep you motivated as well.

Figuring out what triggers your off times puts you in a better position to engineer the fix, says Rachel Dehner, a Denver coach. Identify if its late night parties or Cold weather or Dark mornings or just Not having a race to run. Identify and fix it to keep you going for the rest of the year.
